Application of Sliding-Mode Control to Drive Systems Fed by a Three-Level Voltage-Source Inverter

چکیده
The paper explains basic ideas related to the design of a sliding-mode controller for an electromechanic drive system consisting of an induction motor and a three-level voltage-source inverter. A comprehensive investigation of possible “switched structures” of the drive was carried out. Based on this analysis an original two-step design procedure allows to use the “classical” result of sliding-mode theory for the real switched system with more then 2 switched structures (m is the control space order). The performance of the considered control structure has been examined by simulation.

This paper presents a new adaptive Sliding-Mode flux observer for speed sensorless and rotor flux control of three-phase induction motor (IM) drives. The motor drive is supplied by a three-level space vector modulation (SVM) inverter. Considering the three-phase IM Equations in a stator stationary two axis reference frame, using the partial feedback linearization control and Sliding-Mode (SM) c...

Common-mode voltage (CMV) generated by the inverter causes motor bearing failures in multiphase drives. On the other hand, presence of undesired z-component currents in six-phase induction machine (SPIM) leads to extra current losses and have to be considered in pulse width modulation (PWM) techniques. In this paper, it is shown that the presence of z-component currents and CMV in six phase driv...

A dual stator winding squirrel-cage induction motor (DSWIM) is a brushless single-frame induction motor that contains a stator with two isolated three-phase windings wound with dissimilar numbers of poles. Each stator winding is fed by an independent three-phase inverter. The appropriate efficiency of this motor is obtained when the ratio of two frequencies feeding the machine is equal to the r...
متن کاملSliding Mode Control Technique for an Induction Motor Drive Supplied by a Three-Level Voltage Source Inverter
SLIDING-MODE control is a control technique used widely in electromechanical systems today [1–4]. It bases on using main characteristics of modern inverter semiconductor switches as Insulated Gate-Commutated Transistors (IGCTs) or Insulated-Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs) that are operating in switch mode with distinctly higher switching frequency [5] than formerly used Gate-Turn-Off Thyristor...
